About the Confederation
A non-profit, financially independent professional confederation recognized as an international organization, established by approval in principle of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at its session of 19/8/1443 AH (March 2022), with the Kingdom holding the chairmanship and hosting the headquarters; the founding meeting was held in December 2022. The Confederation operates under the supervision of the competent authority in the host country.
Vision
Enhancing transparency and raising the quality of performance in public and private sector organizations, developing specialized professional competencies in internal audit in the Arab world, and representing member institutes before international organizations.
Mission
Promoting compliance with ethical standards, providing educational and regulatory guidance for the profession, and unifying Arab efforts to raise awareness and culture of the profession through the development of practices, standards and their application.

Legal and founding framework
- 19/8/1443 AH (March 2022)The Council of Ministers approved in principle the establishment of the Arab Confederation of Internal Auditors, chaired by and headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and tasked the General Court of Audit, as the supervising authority of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors, with convening the founding meeting and adopting the statute (Royal Court telegram No. 54350 dated 29/8/1443 AH).
- December 2022Founding General Assembly meeting with the heads of internal audit institutes and associations across the Arab countries; adoption of the statute, organizational structure and principal committees.
- 25/7/1445 AH (February 2024)Council of Ministers Resolution No. (600) authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs to negotiate and sign the Headquarters Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Confederation, under which the Confederation enjoys legal personality in the Kingdom with capacity to contract, own assets and litigate.
Relationship with The IIA
ARABCIA is the only regional organization recognized by The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) for the Arab region. It operates within The IIA's global network, represents its member institutes and associations before The IIA, carries the Global Internal Audit Standards and guidance into Arabic, and delivers External Quality Assessment in line with The IIA's methodology.
