The Arab Confederation for Institutes of Internal Auditors concluded its first conference today under the slogan “Together we develop”, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which was opened in the presence of His Excellency the President of the General Accounting Office, President of the Arab Federation of Internal Auditors’ Associations Dr. Husam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari and His Excellency the President of the Central Authority of Accountants, Hisham Badawi, and a number of His Excellencies from the Arab Republic of Egypt and Member States in addition to government officials from various Arab countries and personalities related to the internal audit profession, President and accompanying delegation of the International Institute of Internal Auditors, Anthony Bogles.

The conference was attended by a large number of leaders and pioneers in the Arab world and the world. It arrived for more than 1500 professionals from 8 Arab countries. The conference also witnessed the announcement of memorandums of cooperation with Al-Awfi and Al-Warbi Company, accountants, legal auditors and a company “ACUMEN”, in addition to the Federation’s announcement that the Bahraini Internal Auditors Association has joined each other, Tunisian Association of Internal Auditors and Association of Internal Auditors of Somalia to its membership; 8 interactive sessions were held throughout the two days of the Conference with the participation of 30 speakers from the Arab world and representatives of the International Institute of Internal Auditors s internal audit “, which discussed the most significant developments in the field of Arab and international internal audit, In terms of innovative techniques, data analysis, risks and their association with internal audit work, as well as ethical behaviour and professional responsibilities.

The conference came up with a series of recommendations that will contribute to the development of the internal audit profession in the Arab world. the need to raise awareness of staff and senior management, as well as the Board of Directors, and to highlight the concept and importance of internal audit and build speed and flexibility to keep pace with changes and effectively redistribute resources, The use of new techniques enabling internal auditors to enhance their value and contributions to their institutions and the need to prepare a business continuity plan by companies that is based on risk and meets the needs of the enterprise and is applicable.

The recommendations also included the adoption of remote audit and continuous review within the annual plan and audit methods approved by the audit committees and the preparation and adoption of the model of coordination between sectors and oversight departments in each enterprise to ensure the best control environment and the best use of all available resources; The conference also recommended the importance of digital transformation of today’s organizations in their various departments and activities and adopts clear strategies for digital transformation in their work and activities, and the creation of the appropriate technical and human structure to implement this transformation.

The conference aims to bring the leaders of the profession together in Arabic under one roof. The Forum represents an advanced Arab professional platform that stimulates thinking and identifies opportunities for development and building on it. Discusses and analyses the most important professional challenges in the Arab world and the best professional solutions and practices in accordance with international standards to recommend to ensure that the challenges are overcome and that professionalism is raised based on the results of the conference sessions. In addition to activating joint cooperation and strengthening Arab unity among member internal auditors’ associations s best practices in the profession in particular and within the framework of the oversight system in general.
