The Arab Confederation of Internal Auditors Associations, in Jeddah, held the second meeting of the General Assembly of the Confederation, headed by the President of the General Audit Bureau, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors, President of the Arab Confederation for institutes of Internal Auditors, Dr. Hossam Al-Anqari, and in the presence of members of the General Assembly, the chairmen of the boards of directors of the internal auditors’ institutes in (Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, and Sudan).

His Excellency Dr. Al-Anqari opened the meeting with thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support for the internal audit profession, which would push the profession to broad horizons and a creative environment for innovation and development, noting that the approval of the Saudi Council of Ministers to establish the Arab Confederation for institutes of Internal Auditors comes in line with the leading and leading role of the Kingdom in the field of oversight and in line with the future directions of the Kingdom.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Confederation, Abdullah Al-Shebili, reviewed the agenda of the General Assembly, which included the approval of the necessary amendments to the statute, and the assignment of the General Secretariat to develop regulations, policies and governance of the Confederation, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda of the meeting. It is noteworthy that the Arab Confederation for Institutes of Internal Auditors aims to strengthen the bonds between its affiliated member states, enhance aspects of cooperation between them within the framework of the profession, unify efforts to enrich Arabic content, in addition to developing the practices of the internal audit profession by raising awareness of its standards, techniques and methods of application.
